After an outstanding start to the Tatura Milk AFL Goulburn Murray Academy 2018 campaign, this week sees the commencement of our Academy Challenge match program.
With players having undertaken a number of high intensity training sessions, including some AFL type combine testing with the local TAC staff, the players and coaches are raring to go for the games to be played.
An aspect of real added to the program this year has seen all participants visit one of the High-Performance training facilities in our region for some valuable education around training for athletic performance. All of the Echuca based Academy players were taken through this session by Russell Jarrett at Infinity High Performance in Kyabram, whilst the Shepparton based players all developed their understanding at the Paul Ford athletic development facility.
Games kicks off on Good Friday with an intra Academy Challenge between our Shepparton and Echuca based U15 participants.
This game will commence at 1pm at the Mooroopna main oval and will provide a fantastic curtain raiser to the Murray Bushrangers vs Bendigo Pioneers Under 16 TAC game which commences at 3pm on the same ground.
On Tuesday 3rd of April and Wednesday 4th of April AFL Central Murray will be hosting the 2018 Academy Challenge. This is a fantastic opportunity for the different academies around the region to come together to play matches.
The Academies involved are AFL Central Murray, AFL Sunraysia, AFL Central Victoria and AFL Goulburn Murray. Two levels of competition will be played in Under 13 and Under 14 levels.
Under 13 will play on Tuesday and Under 14 will play on Wednesday.
We encourage clubs and their local communities to support this event and thank our wonderful sponsors who have contributed towards the academies in 2018.
Actions starts from 10.00 AM.
Canteen facilities will be available on the day and we thank the Swan Hill FNC for hosting the event and providing their facilities on the day.
We look forward to a great day and look forward in seeing some great football action.
