The MBCM Northern Country Women’s League has finalised its senior football squad for the interleague clash against Central Victoria Football League Women’s at Deakin Reserve this Sunday 14th July.
Co-Coach, Mick McInnes said it was once again a difficult selection process cutting the group from 49 to 25 but is very happy with the final list.
Mick who is from Echuca, will coach the NCWL Interleague side together with John Wilson from Shepparton again for the second year running and will add the expertise of Kerang’s Ash Wise who has come on board to as assistant coach for 2019.
“It was so great to have so much depth to pick from again in this year’s initial squad, we feel we’ve got some wonderful talent to showcase women’s football in our region and look forward to an exciting clash with CVFLW” said Mick.
Co-Coach, John Wilson, was also very confident that this group can get the job done and have put in some solid sessions on the track over the couple of weeks.
“Last year we went in not quite knowing what the CVFLW looked like, and learnt a lot from last season’s debut match, so we are ready to give it all we’ve got” reiterated John.
MBCM NCWL Chairman Chris Thomas was delighted about the re-appointment of both Mick and John and welcomes Ash to the League’s coaching panel and is looking forward to seeing the girls give it all they’ve got.
