McInnes and Wilson to Lead Interleague

Inaugural MBCM NCWL Coach of the Year Mick McInnes and Shepparton mentor John Wilson have been appointed as co-coaches for the League’s first interleague clash against Central Victoria Women’s Football League at Bendigo’s QEO on Sunday 15 July.

MBCM NCWL Chairman Chris Thomas congratulated the two coaches on their appointment and welcomed the introduction of an interleague program.

“Both Mick and John are quality coaches and well regarded in our competition and will be fantastic in establishing an interleague program for our League” he said.

“After the successes of our first season a natural addition is to provide an opportunity for our leading players to represent their League and play against our nearest competition in Bendigo.”

“This will be a great way to continue the development of our competition and also to foster the ongoing relationship with Central Victoria.”

“We have now called for nominations from each of our clubs to assemble a training squad which will be announced in the next couple of weeks.”

“Players will be monitored over the next month or so and other players can also be added to the squad based on their performances.”

“The squad will then have selection and training sessions throughout June before the final team is announced for the clash in Bendigo on 15 July.”
