AFL Goulburn Murray are pleased to announce the appointment of Daniel Preston to the Football Development Manager role with AFL Goulburn Murray.
Daniel has a strong background in community football across the Goulburn Murray and North East Border regions where he has coached at Auskick level through to a Senior Assistant Coaching role with Benalla All Blacks. Daniel is also very experienced in the area of strength and conditioning and comes to us after successfully running his own personal training business for a number of years where he has spent 15 years in the fitness industry.
Daniel has also had a long association with the Murray Bushrangers where he has been a development coach, line coach and has supported the AFL North East Border FDM’s with their programs and sessions. Daniel is well regarded in his local community and has been the recipient of Youth Coach of the Year awards from both AFL NEB and the Ovens and King FNL.
“Daniel will be a terrific acquisition to our team and we are really excited to welcome him into the new role” said Jamie.
Aside from his contribution to coaching, Daniel has been an active member of his local community through his involvement as a committee member at the Benalla All Blacks, which included two years as Vice President of the club”.
Daniel has also been an Executive Committee Member with the Wangaratta and District Junior Football League, which Jamie reiterated “as an FDM is really important to have a broad range of experience across community football.”
“Daniel has been a volunteer himself for a long period of time, and his work in Auskick and junior football participation compliments his club experience and I’m sure he will be an asset to AFL Goulburn Murray and will be able to have an immediate impact in the role given his local knowledge and relationships,” said Jamie.
Daniel will commence in the FDM role with AFL GM on Tuesday, March 12.
